MUDAVADI/CCM

BY KENNEDY SHIVAIRO
The  national interim  chair of  NASA , who is also the leader  of ANC party Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, yesterday confirmed the enlistment of Chama Cha Mashinani(CCM)  as a member of NASA .
Talking to reporters in Kericho on phone after the well-attended player rally in Bomet for governor Isaac Rutto who had  arrived from south Africa   after  specialized medical attention from eye injuries, Mudavadi said that the rally had been successful  and that  ANC and CCM will become the first parties to work together under the confederacy of NASA.
Governor Ruto was allegedly attacked  by the police at the Silibwet Township Ward. The  Council of Governors strongly condemn the acts of violence against him  who was attacked trying to address the issue of the arrest and harassment of youth in Bomet County as the head of the County Government.
In a letter written by the council of governors and addressed to the central government  they said that , they  are witnessing a slide back to the dark ages where, the police are now being used by politicians to settle political scores, resulting to innocent Kenyans being brutalized, harassed and unlawfully arrested based on their  political preferences.

They added that, this trend was worrying in view of the fact that the country is facing a general election in less than 10 months’ time. The governors said ,  increased brutality is heightening tensions that may result in very unsavory retaliations that are unnecessary and uncalled for. They ask the Inspector General of police to quickly reign on his troops to ensure that the country goes back in law and order and that the rule of law is respected.

“We ask the citizens of Kenya to be vigilant on the increasing abuse of rights and seek to collaborate with relevant County Governments to ensure this abuse is not perpetuated. We ask Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to urgently investigate these atrocities and ensure justice is done to those whose rights have been violated,” they requested.
They  also call upon the Kenya National Commission on Human rights (KNCHR) to not only highlight such injustices and condemn the brutality Kenyans are facing as we go towards elections, but to also begin to highlight on a daily basis these abuses and seek to call all stakeholders to a monthly forum to discuss the protection of the rights of Kenyans.
But Mudavadi said that it was wrong to Attack a leader of the status of governor and  called it un-African  . He wants Kenyans to ignore such action and concentrate on good leadership   by respecting the constitution.
“Let those who disrespect the wishes of majority and our constitution be warned that their days are number! Through NASA, we will  remove them from power  through the ballot-box and install a sensible  leadership which will be ready to protect our pride and dignity  as  a people,” he warned.
Earlier , Mudavadi said that KANU,ODM,WIPER and  other parties will soon sign –up  with NASA so that the journey can proceed  solidarity.  No officials or a churchflag-bearer has been selected to head the coalition, according to the ANC party leader.
